The Division I Difference
Our student-athletes compete at the highest level of collegiate athletics: NCAA Division I.
RMU is home to 23 intercollegiate athletic teams, including the only men’s and women’s Division I ice hockey squads in the Pittsburgh region and the only Division I men’s lacrosse team between Columbus and State College. We play – and win – in the prestigious Northeast Conference along with such schools as Central Connecticut State University, Long Island University and Saint Francis University. No small feat: Our football team has won the most championship titles in the conference.
At RMU, winning goes beyond the field, court or ice. We’re committed to the total development of our student-athletes. The Colonials are regularly named to the Northeast Conference Academic Honor Roll and ESPN The Magazine District II Academic All-America Team. And nearly 60% of our 550 student-athletes maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above.
